The individual movements provide a meditation on a prayer of Biblical passage. Movements can be played separately, or taken together to form a profoundly satisfying whole.

The 2nd movement, Faith, Hope and Charity, features a solo violin; this movement was recorded by the strings of the Chameleon Arts Orchestra on the disc of Robert Hugill's music on the Divine Art label. The 3rd movement, The Lord bless Thee, features a solo viola and the 4th movement, Collect, has a spectacular solo cello part.
