For his first full recital in the UK, German counter-tenor, David Greiner, will be giving an evening of music for Voice and Viola by Johannes Brahms, Robert Schumann, Robert Kahn and Robert Hugill.

A regular recitalist in Germany and the USA, David's operatic experiences have included contemporary operas at Bonn Opera and in Frankfurt.

David will be singing the lovely late Schumann song cycle to poems by Lenau. Along with viola player Amanda Chancellor, he will be performing Brahms sublime 'Two Songs for Alto Voice, Viola and Piano.' Amanda will be playing Schumann's 'Marchenbilder', his charming fairy-tale pictures for viola and piano.

They will also give the world premier of 'Quickening', Robert Hugill's new song cycle with viola obligato. Setting poems by Christina Rosetti, the song cycle explores themes of renewal and transfiguration, mirroring the soul's journey with the cycle of the seasons.
